A printing process which uses flexible relief plates, that are wrapped around and adhered to a printing cylinder. It is more versatile than letterpress in that it can be used for printing on almost any substrate.
Flexo's printability on a wide range of substrates makes it ideal for many industries. Food packaging is an important market because of the capability to print on non-porous materials. Flexo inks anchor well to corrugated cardboard, polypropylene plastic, vinyl labels, and most coated papers.
Flexographic printing provides a high quality solution when larger runs of a product are required. Rolls of material, not sheets, are fed into the printing press. By eliminating the handling of sheets, presses can be run at higher line speeds, saving both time and money.
